Job Description
The Sr. Manager – Engineering will be responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, utility operations, engineering projects, equipment performance, and technical compliance to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The involves managing engineering teams, optimizing plant performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to GMP, safety, and regulatory standards. The candidate will play a key in enhancing operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and engineering excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering, maintenance, and utility operations across manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure smooth functioning of production equipment, utilities, and plant infrastructure.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, compressors, water systems, DG sets, and utility equipment.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of machinery and engineering systems.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, engineering SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop maintenance schedules, engineering plans, and utility management strategies.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency enhancement projects.
- Coordinate with production, QA, QC, EHS, and supply chain teams for smooth operational support.
- Troubleshoot technical and mechanical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Monitor engineering KPIs, maintenance performance, utility usage, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of spare parts, tools, and engineering consumables.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and engineering vendors effectively.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities related to engineering systems and facilities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement CAPA measures.
- Ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Prepare engineering MIS reports, maintenance summaries, and operational performance reports for management review.
- Train, mentor, and supervise engineering and maintenance teams for improved technical performance.
- Support facility expansion, modernization, and infrastructure development projects.
- Stay updated with latest engineering technologies, maintenance practices, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
