Job Description
The General Manager – Production will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations, production planning, resource management, and process optimization to ensure timely achievement of business and production targets. The involves leading production teams, coordinating with cross-functional departments, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements. The candidate will play a strategic leadership in improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage overall production operations across manufacturing facilities.
- Develop and implement production strategies aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
- Ensure timely execution of manufacturing schedules while maintaining product quality and compliance.
- Monitor production performance, operational efficiency, and productivity metrics regularly.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements across production areas.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, engineering, supply chain, warehouse, and planning teams for smooth operations.
- Drive process optimization, capacity enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, and production resources.
- Monitor and control production costs, material usage, and operational expenditures.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues and operational deviations.
- Support process validation, technology transfer, scale-up, and new product introduction activities.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operational readiness of production equipment and facilities.
- Oversee batch manufacturing documentation, compliance records, and production reports.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Implement strategies to minimize downtime, production delays, and material wastage.
- Promote workplace safety, hygiene, and environmental compliance within manufacturing areas.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production teams to improve performance and operational discipline.
- Collaborate with senior management for production planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare production MIS reports, operational summaries, and management presentations.
- Support business expansion, capacity planning, and infrastructure development projects.
- Stay updated with pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies, industry regulations, and operational best practices.
