The Pulmonology Technician will perform pulmonary function testing, respiratory diagnostic support, equipment preparation, patient instruction, and pulmonology documentation at Fortis, Bengaluru. This requires Diploma or Bachelor in Pulmonary Function Technology or relevant qualification with 1–9 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for PFT, spirometry, DLCO, lung volume, and respiratory diagnostic tests.
- Explain breathing instructions clearly to ensure accurate test performance.
- Verify patient identity, test request, clinical history, and contraindications before procedure.
- Operate pulmonary testing equipment and maintain test quality as per protocol.
- Clean, disinfect, calibrate, and maintain respiratory diagnostic equipment.
- Coordinate with pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, nurses, OPD, ICU, and billing teams.
- Record test details, equipment logs, patient reports, and quality control data.
- Report abnormal test response, patient discomfort, or equipment issues promptly.
- Follow infection control, respiratory safety, PPE, and department documentation standards.
- Ensure safe, accurate, and patient-friendly pulmonary diagnostic support.
