Physician Assistant Job in Chennai at Gleneagles Hospital (Global)

Job Description

The Physician Assistant - Neurology / Cardiology will support consultants in patient assessment, clinical documentation, procedure coordination, report review, patient counselling, and specialty care workflow at Gleneagles Hospital, Chennai. This requires B.Sc Physician Assistant qualification with 3–5 years of experience. There are 2 vacancies for this position.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist neurology and cardiology consultants during OPD, IPD, rounds, procedures, and clinical reviews.
  • Take patient history, record symptoms, review vitals, and support basic clinical assessment.
  • Coordinate investigations, reports, ECG, echo, neuro diagnostics, lab results, and follow-up requirements.
  • Maintain patient records, progress notes, clinical summaries, procedure notes, and handover documentation.
  • Support patient counselling regarding investigation flow, treatment plan, follow-up, and doctor instructions.
  • Coordinate with nursing, diagnostics, ICU, emergency, cath lab, pharmacy, billing, and patient care teams.
  • Track pending reports, planned procedures, discharge instructions, and consultant updates.
  • Escalate abnormal findings, critical reports, or patient deterioration to consultants immediately.
  • Support admission, discharge, referral, and specialty clinic coordination.
  • Maintain confidentiality, patient privacy, and professional clinical communication.
  • Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection control, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient neurology and cardiology care support.
