Anesthesia Doctor

The Anesthesia Doctor will play a critical in patient safety by evaluating patients before procedures, developing individualized anesthesia plans, administering anesthesia, and monitoring vital parameters throughout surgical interventions. This requires strong clinical expertise, quick decision-making, and the ability to manage emergencies and complications effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments including medical history review, physical examination, and evaluation of laboratory results.
• Assess anesthesia risks and determine the most appropriate anesthesia approach for each patient.
• Develop customized anesthesia plans for surgical procedures, labor analgesia, and critical care requirements.
• Administer general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, sedation, and analgesics as per clinical protocols.
• Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory status during procedures.
• Adjust anesthesia levels based on patient response and surgical requirements.
• Perform airway management procedures including intubation, ventilation, and extubation.
• Manage intra-operative complications such as adverse drug reactions, hypotension, respiratory distress, and cardiac events.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including cardiac arrest and perform life-saving interventions such as defibrillation and resuscitation.
• Provide post-operative care including pain management and monitoring recovery from anesthesia.
• Ensure smooth and safe transition of patients from OT to recovery or ICU units.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated patient care.
• Supervise and guide nurse anesthetists, OT technicians, and support staff.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of anesthesia procedures, patient records, and clinical notes.
• Ensure adherence to patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and hospital guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits.
• Stay updated with advancements in anesthesia techniques, medications, and equipment.
• Ensure proper usage and maintenance of anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.
• Educate patients and families regarding anesthesia procedures, risks, and recovery expectations.
• Handle medico-legal cases with appropriate documentation and compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and accreditation processes.
• Work in coordination with ICU and emergency teams for critically ill patients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in anesthesia services and patient outcomes.
