Medical Insurance Executive

The Medical Insurance Executive plays a crucial in ensuring smooth financial operations by managing insurance verifications, claim submissions, and payment follow-ups. This requires strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance processes, and excellent coordination skills to support both patients and internal teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Process and submit insurance claims accurately to TPAs and insurance providers.
• Track claim status, follow up on pending claims, and ensure timely reimbursements.
• Handle claim denials, rejections, and resubmissions with proper documentation and justification.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage details, and pre-authorization requirements.
• Facilitate cashless approvals and coordinate with insurance companies for timely processing.
• Prepare and generate accurate patient invoices and billing statements.
• Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients as applicable.
• Ensure correct medical coding and billing practices in line with regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, billing data, and claim documentation.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and billing teams for required clinical documentation.
• Liaise with TPAs, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing and claim-related queries.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, insurance guidelines, and hospital policies.
• Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on overdue payments.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on billing, collections, and claim status.
• Identify discrepancies in billing or claims and take corrective actions promptly.
• Support audit processes, internal reviews, and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient financial and medical information.
• Assist patients in understanding insurance coverage, billing processes, and payment options.
• Ensure proper documentation for cashless and reimbursement cases.
• Coordinate discharge processes related to billing and insurance clearance.
• Stay updated with changes in insurance policies, TPA guidelines, and billing regulations.
• Work closely with finance and accounts teams for reconciliation and reporting.
• Maintain professionalism and effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving billing efficiency and revenue cycle management.
