Technician

Kiran Multi Super Speciality Hospital & Research Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to manage the cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring strict adherence to infection control standards and patient safety protocols. The involves supporting all clinical departments by providing sterile instruments and maintaining a contamination-free environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect used surgical instruments and medical equipment from operation theatres and wards.
• Perform cleaning, decontamination, washing, and disinfection of instruments as per SOPs.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, and other CSSD machinery.
• Ensure proper packing, labeling, and loading of instruments for sterilization cycles.
• Monitor sterilization parameters including temperature, pressure, and cycle time.
• Maintain proper segregation of sterile, contaminated, and clean areas in CSSD.
• Ensure proper storage and distribution of sterile instruments to respective departments.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, loads, and biological indicators.
• Perform routine checks and validation of sterilization equipment.
• Follow strict infection control protocols and hospital hygiene standards.
• Handle chemical disinfectants and ensure safe usage as per guidelines.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, and other departments for instrument requirements.
• Ensure timely availability of sterile sets for surgical procedures.
• Maintain inventory of CSSD consumables and sterilization materials.
• Report equipment malfunctions or deviations immediately to supervisors.
• Participate in quality control checks and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with NABH, cGMP (where applicable), and hospital policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of CSSD work areas.
• Follow biomedical waste management guidelines for safe disposal.
• Participate in training programs for infection control and sterilization practices.
