Clinical Resident Medical officer

The Clinical Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for delivering round-the-clock medical care to patients, assisting in diagnosis and treatment, and ensuring proper implementation of clinical plans. This requires strong clinical knowledge, prompt decision-making, and the ability to handle diverse medical cases in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions under the guidance of consultants.
• Monitor patient progress, vital signs, and response to treatment regularly.
• Implement treatment plans, medication orders, and clinical interventions as prescribed.

• Coordinate with consultants and specialists for patient management and referrals.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic reports and take appropriate clinical actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, case sheets, and progress notes.
• Ensure proper documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
• Assist in pre-operative, intra-operative (if required), and post-operative patient care.
• Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Handle medico-legal cases and maintain documentation as per legal guidelines.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals for comprehensive care.
• Attend code blue calls and manage critical care situations efficiently.
• Ensure rational use of medications, investigations, and hospital resources.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes.
• Provide guidance and supervision to interns, junior doctors, and nursing staff when required.
• Assist in discharge planning, summary preparation, and follow-up care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
