Job Description
Attending Consultant Paediatrics is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. The involves diagnosing and treating pediatric illnesses, monitoring patient progress, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and ensuring high standards of clinical and patient-centered healthcare services.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents.
- Conduct detailed physical examinations and diagnose pediatric illnesses and conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans for pediatric patients.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical response.
- Provide outpatient, inpatient, and emergency pediatric consultations as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for coordinated patient care.
- Educate parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, and preventive healthcare.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and treatment reports.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, pediatric care guidelines, and patient safety standards.
- Manage pediatric emergencies and provide timely medical intervention.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with advancements in pediatric medicine and evidence-based treatment practices.
- Participate in medical education, training programs, and academic activities.
- Support vaccination, growth monitoring, and preventive healthcare initiatives.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and hospital accreditation activities.
- Perform additional pediatric and clinical responsibilities assigned by management or senior consultants.
