Senior Resident - General Surgery

The Senior Resident - General Surgery will support surgical consultation, general surgery care, laparoscopy support, operative assistance, post-operative follow-up, and surgical documentation at Max Healthcare, New Delhi. This requires MS or DNB General Surgery with 0–2 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate surgical patients in OPD, IPD, emergency, ward, OT, and post-operative areas.
• Assist consultants in surgical diagnosis, investigation planning, treatment decisions, and procedure preparation.
• Support general surgery, laparoscopy, wound care, dressing, drain care, and minor procedures.
• Monitor post-operative patients for pain, wound healing, bleeding, infection, drains, and recovery progress.
• Review lab reports, imaging reports, operative notes, and clinical progress.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, anaesthesia, nursing, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Maintain case sheets, procedure notes, consent records, progress notes, and discharge documents.
• Attend emergency surgical calls and support timely surgical decision-making.
• Counsel patients under consultant guidance regarding surgery, recovery, and follow-up.
• Guide junior staff and nursing team on surgical care instructions when required.
• Follow surgical safety checklist, infection control, and hospital documentation standards.
• Ensure safe, timely, and patient-centered surgical care support.
