Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and accurately for laboratory testing. The requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and patient care sensitivity. The candidate must ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of samples while maintaining hygiene and safety standards. This position plays a key in diagnostic accuracy and patient satisfaction within the pathology department.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples using venipuncture and capillary techniques
• Ensure correct patient identification before sample collection
• Label and document samples accurately
• Maintain proper hygiene and infection control standards
• Prepare patients for blood collection procedures
• Handle pediatric and elderly patients with care
• Maintain blood collection equipment and supplies
• Ensure safe disposal of biomedical waste
• Transport samples to laboratory securely
• Maintain daily collection records
• Follow NABL and safety guidelines
• Assist in sample storage and processing
• Communicate politely with patients during procedures
• Report any complications or adverse reactions
