Fellow - Cardiac Anaesthesia

Fellow - Cardiac Anaesthesia is responsible for learning and supporting specialized anaesthesia care for cardiac surgeries and cardiac procedures under consultant supervision. The requires MBBS with DNB or MD qualification and 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have interest and knowledge in cardiac anaesthesia, perioperative monitoring, ICU care, airway management, and patient safety.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist cardiac anaesthesia consultants during cardiac surgical procedures.
• Support pre-anaesthesia assessment and patient risk evaluation.
• Help prepare anaesthesia plans based on cardiac condition and procedure requirement.
• Monitor patient vitals, airway, oxygenation, cardiac rhythm, and hemodynamic status.
• Assist with invasive line placement, airway management, and perioperative monitoring under supervision.
• Coordinate with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, OT nurses, ICU teams, and anaesthesia staff.
• Support post-operative transfer and handover to cardiac ICU.
• Maintain anaesthesia records, procedure notes, and clinical documentation.
• Ensure readiness of anaesthesia machines, emergency drugs, monitors, and airway equipment.
• Follow OT safety checklist, infection control, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in cardiac case discussions, academic teaching, and clinical learning activities.
• Support emergency response, CPR, and resuscitation activities when required.
• Observe and learn advanced cardiac anaesthesia techniques under supervision.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical clinical practice.
• Deliver safe, attentive, and supervised cardiac anaesthesia support.
