Job Description
The Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures including X-Ray, CT, MRI, OPG, and Mammography while maintaining high standards of quality and patient care. The involves preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the examination. The candidate will ensure minimal turnaround time (TAT) for imaging and reporting, maintain departmental readiness, and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operate radiology equipment including X-Ray, CT, MRI, OPG, and Mammography systems efficiently.
- Ensure fastest possible TAT for all imaging procedures and support reporting within defined timelines.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and clearly explain the process to ensure cooperation and comfort.
- Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain accuracy and quality standards in all imaging tests and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to SOPs, safety guidelines, and radiation protection protocols.
- Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and calibration of radiology equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and overall housekeeping of the radiology department.
- Ensure department readiness at all times for routine and emergency cases.
- Handle emergency situations efficiently and assist medical teams when required.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient details, imaging records, and reports.
- Manage and update inventory, including receiving and tracking consumables in the system.
- Coordinate with radiologists and other departments for smooth workflow and timely reporting.
- Monitor patient safety and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards.
- Assist in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle patient queries and provide support throughout the diagnostic process.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and maintain professional conduct.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Stay updated with advancements in radiology technology and best practices.
- Support team coordination and contribute to efficient departmental operations.
