The Consultant - HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant will manage hepatopancreatobiliary surgical care, liver transplant-related evaluation, operative planning, post-operative care, and multidisciplinary coordination at BLK-Max Hospital, Kanpur. This requires M.Ch or DrNB in HPB / GI with 0–3 years of experience in HPB surgery, liver surgery, or transplant care.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients requiring HPB, GI, liver, pancreas, or biliary surgical care.
- Plan surgical treatment for liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile duct, and GI-related conditions.
- Support liver transplant evaluation, surgical planning, and post-operative care coordination.
- Review imaging, liver function tests, coagulation reports, biopsy reports, and clinical history.
- Coordinate with hepatology, anesthesia, ICU, radiology, pathology, blood bank, and nursing teams.
- Monitor post-operative recovery, drains, wound healing, liver function, and complications.
- Maintain operative notes, consent forms, progress notes, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
- Counsel patients and families regarding surgery, transplant process, risks, recovery, and follow-up.
- Manage emergency HPB surgical conditions under hospital protocol.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumor board meetings when required.
- Follow surgical safety checklist, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Ensure safe, ethical, and specialized HPB surgical care delivery.
