The Associate Consultant - HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant will support HPB surgery and liver transplant services at BLK-Max Hospital, Kanpur. This requires M.Ch or DrNB in HPB / GI with 0–3 years of experience. The candidate will assist in patient evaluation, surgical planning, operative support, post-operative monitoring, and multidisciplinary liver care coordination.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating patients with liver, pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder, and GI surgical conditions.
- Support HPB surgery and liver transplant-related clinical planning.
- Review investigations including imaging, LFT, coagulation profile, biopsy, and lab reports.
- Assist during surgeries, procedures, and post-operative patient monitoring.
- Coordinate with consultants, ICU, anesthesia, hepatology, radiology, pathology, and nursing teams.
- Maintain clinical notes, operative records, consent forms, and discharge documentation.
- Monitor drains, wound healing, liver function, pain control, and post-operative complications.
- Counsel patients and relatives under senior consultant guidance.
- Support emergency liver or HPB surgical care when required.
- Participate in case discussions, transplant meetings, and departmental rounds.
- Follow surgical safety, infection control, and hospital SOPs.
- Ensure safe and coordinated HPB and liver transplant care support.
