Professor - Plastic Surgery

The Professor – Plastic Surgery will lead academic teaching, clinical services, reconstructive procedures, aesthetic surgery training, research, and departmental development. This requires advanced surgical expertise in plastic, reconstructive, trauma, burn, hand, craniofacial, and cosmetic procedures. The candidate will supervise residents, manage complex surgical cases, guide academic research, and ensure safe, ethical, and patient-centered plastic surgery care within the institution.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead academic teaching and clinical training for undergraduate, postgraduate, and plastic surgery trainees.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring reconstructive, aesthetic, trauma, burn, and soft tissue surgical care.
• Perform and supervise plastic surgery procedures as per clinical indications and surgical standards.
• Conduct ward rounds, OPD consultations, operative teaching, case discussions, and seminars.
• Guide residents in surgical planning, operative techniques, postoperative care, and complication management.
• Supervise research projects, dissertations, academic presentations, and scientific publications.
• Coordinate with orthopedics, general surgery, oncology, dermatology, emergency, and rehabilitation teams.
• Provide expert consultation for burns, facial injuries, wound coverage, hand injuries, and reconstructive needs.
• Ensure proper documentation of clinical assessments, operative notes, consent forms, and follow-up plans.
• Promote surgical safety, infection control, ethical practice, and evidence-based treatment decisions.
• Participate in departmental planning, faculty meetings, examinations, and institutional academic activities.
• Support clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
• Organize or participate in workshops, CME programs, conferences, and surgical skill development sessions.
• Mentor junior faculty and residents to improve clinical judgment, surgical skills, and academic output.
• Contribute to development of advanced plastic and reconstructive surgery services.
