Professor - Nephrology

The Professor – Nephrology will be responsible for leading academic teaching, clinical nephrology services, dialysis care oversight, research activities, and departmental development. This requires advanced expertise in kidney diseases, renal replacement therapy, transplant medicine, postgraduate training, and multidisciplinary care. The candidate will mentor students and residents, manage complex renal cases, support evidence-based clinical practice, and contribute to institutional academic and healthcare excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead academic teaching for undergraduate, postgraduate, and nephrology trainees.
• Diagnose and manage acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome, and electrolyte disorders.
• Supervise dialysis services, renal care protocols, and nephrology inpatient management.
• Conduct clinical rounds, seminars, case discussions, bedside teaching, and academic sessions.
• Guide residents and students in dissertations, research studies, publications, and presentations.
• Provide expert consultation for complex renal, transplant-related, hypertensive, and critical nephrology cases.
• Coordinate with urology, medicine, critical care, pathology, radiology, and dialysis teams for patient care.
• Develop nephrology teaching plans, academic schedules, curriculum materials, and assessment methods.
• Ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, patient counseling, and clinical documentation.
• Promote safe dialysis practices, infection control, patient safety, and ethical medical care.
• Participate in academic committees, examinations, faculty meetings, and institutional development activities.
• Support clinical audits, quality indicators, and continuous improvement in nephrology services.
• Organize or participate in workshops, conferences, CME activities, and academic programs.
• Mentor junior faculty, residents, and dialysis teams for better clinical and academic performance.
• Contribute to growth of renal care services, research output, and departmental excellence.
