Professor - Interventional Radiology

The Professor – Interventional Radiology will lead academic teaching, clinical interventional radiology services, image-guided procedures, research, and departmental development. This requires strong expertise in diagnostic imaging, minimally invasive procedures, patient safety, teaching, and multidisciplinary clinical coordination. The candidate will mentor trainees, perform advanced interventional procedures, support research and academic programs, and ensure high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based patient care.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead teaching and training for medical students, residents, fellows, and interventional radiology trainees.
• Perform and supervise image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures.
• Manage vascular, non-vascular, oncology, hepatobiliary, urology, and emergency interventional cases as per expertise.
• Conduct clinical demonstrations, case discussions, procedure-based teaching, seminars, and academic sessions.
• Guide trainees in procedure planning, imaging interpretation, patient preparation, and post-procedure care.
• Ensure safe use of imaging modalities such as ultrasound, CT, fluoroscopy, and angiography during procedures.
• Coordinate with surgery, oncology, medicine, critical care, gastroenterology, and emergency teams for patient management.
• Review imaging findings, clinical indications, consent requirements, and procedural risk factors.
• Maintain accurate procedural notes, reports, consent documentation, and follow-up records.
• Promote radiation safety, infection control, procedural safety, and ethical clinical practice.
• Guide research projects, dissertations, publications, audits, and scientific presentations.
• Participate in academic committees, examinations, departmental planning, and institutional activities.
• Support quality improvement, morbidity review, and patient safety initiatives in interventional services.
• Conduct or contribute to workshops, CME programs, conferences, and hands-on training sessions.
• Develop advanced interventional radiology services through clinical leadership and academic excellence.
