CT Technicians are responsible for performing diagnostic CT scan procedures and ensuring accurate imaging for patient diagnosis and treatment planning. The involves preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating CT scan equipment, monitoring patient safety, maintaining imaging records, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards. The candidate will play a vital in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services while ensuring patient comfort and operational efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for CT scan procedures and explain the imaging process clearly.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain accurate and high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate CT scan equipment safely and efficiently according to prescribed imaging protocols.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Assist patients with special needs, emergency conditions, or limited mobility during procedures.
- Ensure proper administration and handling of contrast materials when required.
- Observe patients for any unusual reactions to contrast agents or medications and report concerns immediately.
- Produce clear and accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Process, review, and maintain CT imaging records using computerized imaging systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging records.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, radiology standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Perform routine quality checks and basic maintenance of CT scan equipment.
- entify equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or servicing when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of imaging rooms and diagnostic equipment.
- Coordinate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff for smooth patient workflow and imaging services.
- Ensure proper scheduling and timely completion of imaging procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and diagnostic information.
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients during imaging procedures.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs.
- Stay updated with advancements, innovations, and new technologies in radiology and diagnostic imaging.
- Assist in emergency imaging procedures and urgent diagnostic requirements when needed.
- Maintain professionalism, discipline, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
