Job Description
Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality treatment support within the department. The involves conducting patient assessments, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. The candidate will play a vital in providing compassionate patient care and ensuring smooth coordination between patients, doctors, and healthcare teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed patient assessments and promptly communicate significant findings to physicians and healthcare teams.
- Provide high-quality nursing care including patient monitoring, medication administration, comfort measures, and routine nursing procedures.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment interventions.
- Monitor patient vitals, symptoms, and treatment responses regularly.
- Ensure patient safety by following departmental protocols, infection control measures, and treatment administration guidelines.
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, IV fluids, and therapies accurately.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient records, nursing notes, procedures, and treatment details.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and recovery expectations.
- Handle emergency situations and provide immediate nursing intervention when required.
- Ensure timely and accurate onsite billing support and charge capture for patient services when applicable.
- Maintain records of procedures, billing information, treatment codes, and nursing documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing teams, and other departments for effective patient care management.
- Support patient admission, discharge, and transfer procedures efficiently.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment and nursing supplies.
- Monitor patient comfort and provide emotional support during treatment and recovery.
- Follow hospital policies, NABH guidelines, patient safety standards, and nursing protocols at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and infection prevention standards within the department.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Assist in inventory monitoring and reporting shortages of medical and nursing supplies.
- Maintain professionalism, discipline, and ethical conduct in all patient care activities.
- Perform additional nursing and departmental responsibilities assigned by supervisors or management.
