Pharmacist

Pharmacist is responsible for managing pharmacy operations, ensuring the availability of medicines and surgical supplies, maintaining inventory control, and supporting smooth coordination between pharmacy, stores, consultants, and hospital departments. The involves monitoring stock levels, handling indents, maintaining documentation, managing material requirements, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy and hospital operational standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure smooth coordination of pharmacy activities.
• Coordinate pharmacy and surgical material requirements for various hospital departments.
• Cross-check and forward indents to the central drug store regularly.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate availability of medicines, surgical items, and consumables.
• Conduct periodic stock verification and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure availability of fast-moving medicines and essential pharmacy items at all times.
• Maintain minimum stock levels for slow-moving, critical, and high-value materials.
• Review inventory of central drug stores, surgical stores, and sub-stores on a regular basis.
• Monitor daily stock consumption, shortages, and bounce analysis reports.
• Coordinate with consultants and hospital departments regarding medication and material requirements.
• Check expiry dates of medicines and consumables and inform logistics or concerned departments timely.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and dispensing practices for medicines and pharmacy items.
• Coordinate with the purchase department for timely procurement of medicines and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of stock movement, inventory reports, and pharmacy records.
• Prepare and submit monthly MIS reports related to inventory, stock utilization, and pharmacy operations.
• Participate in weekly review meetings and coordinate with all pharmacy outlets and related departments.
• Support manpower coordination and workflow management within pharmacy operations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with laboratory and clinical departments regarding material and supply requirements.
• Monitor and minimize stock wastage, expired materials, and inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in pharmacy documentation and operational records.
• Assist in audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities related to pharmacy management.
• Maintain professionalism, discipline, and effective communication with healthcare teams and vendors.
• Perform additional pharmacy and inventory-related responsibilities assigned by management or supervisors.
