Pharmacist

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medicines, checking prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy stock, guiding patients on medicine usage, and supporting hospital pharmacy operations. This requires D.Pharm or B.Pharm qualification, pharmacy knowledge, attention to detail, patient-friendly communication, inventory discipline, and compliance with pharmacy standards. The candidate will ensure safe, accurate, ethical, and timely medicine dispensing for patients and hospital departments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines as per valid prescription and hospital pharmacy process.
• Verify medicine name, dose, quantity, expiry date, and billing details before issue.
• Guide patients on medicine usage, timing, storage, and precautions as instructed.
• Maintain stock records, inventory entries, purchase receipts, and issue details.
• Monitor expiry dates, near-expiry stock, shortages, and reorder requirements.
• Arrange medicines properly with labeling, storage standards, and easy traceability.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, purchase, stores, and pharmacy incharge.
• Handle patient medicine queries politely and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper arrangement of pharmacy shelves.
• Follow pharmacy regulations, hospital SOPs, and patient safety standards.
• Support stock audits, physical verification, and reconciliation activities.
• Report expired, damaged, shortage, or non-moving stock to seniors.
• Ensure proper storage of temperature-sensitive and high-alert medicines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription-related information.
• Support accurate and ethical pharmacy service delivery.
