Cornea Surgeon - Ophthalmologist Job in Arrah at ASG Eye Hospital

Job Description

The Cornea Surgeon - Ophthalmologist will be responsible for diagnosing and managing corneal diseases, ocular surface disorders, keratoconus, corneal infections, scars, and corneal surgery cases. This requires expertise in ophthalmic diagnostics, corneal procedures, surgical planning, patient counselling, and post-operative care. The candidate will coordinate with optometrists, OT teams, counsellors, and clinical departments to ensure specialized corneal care.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat corneal diseases, ocular surface disorders, keratoconus, and corneal infections.
  • Perform corneal procedures and surgeries as per clinical indication and expertise.
  • Evaluate patients for corneal transplant, cross-linking, refractive procedures, and related treatments.
  • Interpret slit lamp findings, corneal topography, pachymetry, and diagnostic reports.
  • Manage dry eye, corneal ulcers, scars, dystrophies, and post-operative complications.
  • Coordinate with optometrists, OT staff, counsellors, nurses, and ophthalmology teams.
  • Counsel patients regarding treatment options, procedure risks, recovery, and expected outcomes.
  • Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate OPD notes, surgical records, consent forms, and follow-up documentation.
  • Monitor corneal healing, visual improvement, complications, and treatment response.
  • Follow infection control, surgical safety, sterilization, and ethical clinical practices.
  • Support cornea screening, patient education, and preventive eye care activities.
  • Participate in case discussions, audits, and clinical training initiatives.
  • Guide junior clinical teams in cornea workup and patient preparation.
  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and patient-centered cornea care.
