Medical Gastroenterologist

MGM Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Gastroenterologist to diagnose, treat, and manage disorders related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and biliary tract. The involves providing advanced gastroenterology care, performing diagnostic evaluations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
• Evaluate patients with symptoms such as abdominal pain, bleeding, jaundice, and digestive disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for GI, liver, and pancreatic conditions.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.
• Manage liver diseases including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver disease.
• Provide emergency care for acute GI bleeding and other critical gastrointestinal conditions.
• Interpret imaging and laboratory results for accurate clinical diagnosis.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and ICU teams for integrated patient care.
• Conduct therapeutic procedures like polypectomy, dilation, and biopsy sampling when required.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide counseling on diet, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and clinical documentation.
• Participate in inpatient rounds and outpatient consultations.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based gastroenterology protocols and guidelines.
• Supervise junior doctors and medical trainees in gastroenterology services.
• Coordinate with endoscopy unit staff for procedural efficiency and safety.
• Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
