Intensivist

MGM Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensivist to provide advanced critical care management to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The involves rapid clinical decision-making, life-saving interventions, and coordination of multidisciplinary critical care services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for ICU and high-dependency patients.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients with multi-organ failure or complex conditions.
• Monitor and interpret vital parameters, laboratory data, and diagnostic reports continuously.
• Manage ventilators and advanced life support systems effectively.
• Perform emergency life-saving procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line placement.
• Lead ICU rounds and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for patient management.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and critical care plans.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and deteriorating patient conditions.
• Ensure safe weaning of patients from ventilatory and life-support systems.
• Provide supervision and guidance to residents, junior doctors, and ICU nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and detailed ICU patient records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control measures, and hospital guidelines.
• Coordinate with specialists for integrated and comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding prognosis and treatment plans.
• Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews and clinical audits.
• Ensure optimal utilization of ICU resources, equipment, and medications.
• Support organ donation and transplant-related protocols when required.
• Stay updated with advancements in critical care medicine and ICU technologies.
• Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and ethical practices.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in ICU care.
