Jr/Sr Consultant Pathologist

MGM Hospital is seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented Jr./Sr. Consultant Pathologist to provide expert diagnostic services, ensure accurate laboratory reporting, and support clinical decision-making through high-quality pathology interpretation. The involves supervising laboratory operations, reviewing reports, and maintaining compliance with clinical and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation of histopathology, cytology, and clinical pathology reports.
• Review and validate laboratory test results before final reporting.
• Ensure timely delivery of diagnostic reports as per hospital turnaround time (TAT) standards.
• Supervise and guide laboratory technicians and junior pathologists.
• Correlate clinical findings with laboratory results for accurate diagnosis.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical rounds.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory quality control and quality assurance protocols.
• Oversee sample processing, grossing, and specimen handling procedures.
• Maintain compliance with NABL/NABH and other regulatory standards.
• Address complex diagnostic cases and provide expert opinions.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of laboratory records.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and accreditation activities.
• Guide implementation of new laboratory techniques and diagnostic methods.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Review and validate critical and abnormal reports before release.
• Provide consultation support to clinicians for diagnostic clarification.
• Participate in research, academic activities, and case studies.
• Ensure adherence to biosafety and infection control protocols.
• Train and mentor pathology staff and residents.
• Continuously update knowledge with advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine.
