Job Description

Senior Clinical Associate - HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant is responsible for supporting complex HPB and liver transplant cases through advanced patient monitoring, perioperative coordination, documentation, clinical workflow management, and multidisciplinary communication. The requires MBBS, MD, DNB, or MS qualification with 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have strong clinical judgement, documentation accuracy, and transplant care coordination skills.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Support HPB and liver transplant consultants in complex clinical cases.
  • Conduct patient assessments and maintain detailed clinical documentation.
  • Assist in pre-operative preparation, transplant evaluation, and surgical readiness.
  • Monitor post-operative and transplant patients for clinical deterioration.
  • Review blood reports, imaging, liver function parameters, and critical updates.
  • Coordinate with transplant coordinators, ICU, OT, anaesthesia, nursing, pharmacy, and diagnostics.
  • Maintain complete case records, progress notes, prescriptions, and discharge summaries.
  • Support patient admission, transfer, discharge, and follow-up planning.
  • Assist in counselling patients and families under consultant supervision.
  • Track clinical tasks, pending investigations, reports, and treatment updates.
  • Identify complications and escalate urgent concerns quickly.
  • Support junior clinical team members in routine workflow.
  • Follow transplant protocols, surgical safety standards, and infection control practices.
  • Participate in case reviews, audits, clinical meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Deliver disciplined, ethical, and patient-focused liver transplant clinical support.
