Job Description

Senior Clinical Assistant - HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant is responsible for providing advanced clinical support to HPB and liver transplant consultants, including patient assessment, perioperative coordination, documentation, clinical follow-up, and team communication. The requires MBBS, MD, DNB, or MS qualification with 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of surgical workflow, transplant patient care, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Support senior consultants in HPB surgery and liver transplant patient management.
  • Conduct preliminary clinical assessment and prepare patient summaries.
  • Assist in pre-operative workup, surgical planning support, and transplant preparation.
  • Monitor post-operative recovery and escalate complications immediately.
  • Review investigations, liver function reports, imaging, and consultant instructions.
  • Coordinate with transplant coordinators, ICU, OT, anaesthesia, nursing, diagnostics, and pharmacy teams.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, discharge summaries, and clinical documentation.
  • Support admission, transfer, discharge, referral, and follow-up processes.
  • Assist in patient counselling and family communication under senior guidance.
  • Track pending reports, clearances, procedures, and clinical tasks.
  • Guide junior support staff in routine clinical workflow when required.
  • Follow surgical safety, infection control, transplant protocols, and hospital standards.
  • Participate in case discussions, audits, and clinical review meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical and transplant information.
  • Deliver organized, disciplined, and patient-centered clinical assistance.
