Job Description

Clinical Associate - HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant is responsible for assisting HPB surgeons and liver transplant teams in clinical assessment, perioperative patient care, documentation, and treatment coordination. The requires MBBS, MD, DNB, or MS qualification with 0 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have knowledge of HPB surgical care, transplant workflow, hospital documentation, and patient monitoring.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support for HPB surgery and liver transplant patients.
  • Assist consultants during ward rounds, OPD reviews, and case discussions.
  • Take patient history, record clinical findings, and update patient notes.
  • Monitor patients before and after surgery or transplant procedures.
  • Review laboratory reports, imaging, liver function tests, and clinical updates.
  • Coordinate with ICU, OT, transplant coordinators, anaesthesia, nursing, and diagnostics.
  • Maintain prescriptions, progress notes, case sheets, and discharge documentation.
  • Support pre-operative preparation and post-operative follow-up care.
  • Assist in identifying complications and reporting concerns to senior doctors.
  • Coordinate patient movement between departments and procedure areas.
  • Support patient and family communication under consultant direction.
  • Follow hospital protocols, infection control, and transplant safety practices.
  • Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and team discussions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and treatment information.
  • Deliver accurate, compassionate, and reliable clinical support.
