Job Description

Associate Consultant - Centre for Cancer is responsible for supporting cancer care services through consultation, diagnosis support, treatment planning, patient management, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination. The requires MBBS, DNB, MD, DM, or MCh qualification with 2 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of oncology workflows, patient counselling, clinical protocols, and team-based cancer treatment.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support for cancer patients in OPD, IPD, and day-care settings.
  • Assist senior consultants in oncology consultation and treatment planning.
  • Review biopsy reports, imaging, lab investigations, staging reports, and clinical history.
  • Support chemotherapy, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, or supportive care coordination as required.
  • Monitor patient condition, treatment response, and side effects.
  • Coordinate with medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, nursing, and pharmacy teams.
  • Maintain accurate oncology records, prescriptions, consent forms, and clinical documentation.
  • Support patient admission, discharge, follow-up, and procedure coordination.
  • Counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment steps under consultant guidance.
  • Participate in tumor board discussions and multidisciplinary case planning.
  • Identify urgent oncology complications and escalate promptly.
  • Follow cancer care protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Support oncology audits, clinical meetings, and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient diagnosis and treatment information.
  • Deliver compassionate, ethical, and patient-focused cancer care support.
