Consultant Neurologist

The Consultant Neurologist will evaluate and manage patients with neurological conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. This requires strong clinical expertise, diagnostic skills, and the ability to handle both routine and critical neurological cases.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders such as stroke, epilepsy, migraine, neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations including history taking, neurological examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scans, EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
• Manage acute neurological emergencies including stroke and seizures.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative neurological care when required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgeons, intensivists, and rehabilitation specialists.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding neurological conditions and care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and clinical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in OPD consultations, ward rounds, and emergency duties.
• Handle medico-legal cases and ensure proper documentation when required.
• Stay updated with advancements in neurology and treatment techniques.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical medical practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior doctors and medical staff.
• Coordinate with diagnostic and support departments for patient care.
• Participate in awareness programs, medical camps, and CME activities.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases efficiently.
• Ensure high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
• Contribute to improving clinical outcomes and service quality.
