Blood Bank Technician

The Blood Bank Technician will support blood bank operations, blood component handling, sample testing, donor coordination, documentation, inventory tracking, and lab support at Nahar Hospital, Jalore. This requires B.Sc MLT, BMLT, or DMLT qualification with 0–2 years of experience in blood bank operations, laboratory support, and documentation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support blood collection, grouping, cross-matching, component handling, and issue process.
• Verify patient details, donor details, blood group, compatibility, and request forms.
• Maintain blood bank registers, issue records, stock records, and testing documentation.
• Assist in donor screening, sample collection, labeling, and processing activities.
• Monitor blood unit storage conditions, expiry dates, temperature logs, and inventory status.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing, laboratory, OT, ICU, emergency, and billing teams.
• Follow blood bank SOPs, quality standards, biosafety, and infection control practices.
• Report abnormal test results, mismatches, stock shortages, or documentation gaps to seniors.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper arrangement of blood bank area.
• Support emergency blood requirements and urgent issue coordination.
• Handle biomedical waste and lab materials as per protocol.
• Ensure accurate, safe, and timely blood bank support services.
