Staff Nurses (ER, ICCU, CTVS & OT)

The Staff Nurse will play a vital in patient care management within Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU), Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS), and Operation Theatre (OT). This requires strong clinical skills, the ability to handle critical cases, and a commitment to patient safety and care excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in ER, ICCU, CTVS, and OT settings.
• Monitor patient vital signs, clinical condition, and response to treatment continuously.
• Assist doctors during medical procedures, surgeries, and emergency interventions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and blood products as prescribed.
• Manage critically ill patients using advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies including cardiac arrest, trauma, and post-operative complications.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, charts, and nursing documentation.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols.
• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient care and recovery.
• Handle emergency procedures such as CPR, airway management, and basic life support.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, technicians, and support staff.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.
• Follow hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in patient transfer between departments and critical care units.
• Participate in shift handovers and ensure continuity of patient care.
• Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to doctors immediately.
• Support infection prevention and biomedical waste management practices.
• Participate in training programs, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and emergency duties.
• Maintain professionalism, empathy, and patient confidentiality at all times.
