Job Description
The Senior Staff Nurse will be responsible for delivering advanced nursing care, supervising junior staff, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and hospital standards. The requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage patient care effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and advanced nursing care to patients across assigned units.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical conditions regularly.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Supervise and guide junior nurses and support staff.
- Assist doctors during medical procedures and emergency interventions.
- Ensure proper patient assessment, care planning, and implementation.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and records.
- Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, and nutritional needs are met.
- Handle critical situations and provide immediate nursing care during emergencies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for effective patient management.
- Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.
- Participate in ward rounds and contribute to patient care planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medication, and care plans.
- Maintain proper handover during shift changes for continuity of care.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Monitor and maintain ward/ICU discipline, cleanliness, and organization.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH standards.
- Participate in training, mentoring, and staff development programs.
- Maintain professionalism, empathy, and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing management.
