Job Description
The Consultant Neurosurgeon will be responsible for evaluating patients with neurological conditions, performing complex neurosurgical procedures, and managing pre-operative and post-operative care. The requires strong surgical expertise, precision, and the ability to handle high-risk cases in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system.
- Evaluate patients through detailed medical history, neurological examination, and diagnostic tests.
- Plan and perform complex neurosurgical procedures with high precision.
- Manage conditions such as brain tumors, spinal disorders, head injuries, and neurological diseases.
- Interpret imaging studies such as CT scans, MRI, and angiography.
- Provide pre-operative assessment and counseling to patients and families.
- Perform emergency neurosurgical interventions when required.
- Manage post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
- Collaborate with neurologists, anesthetists, and critical care teams for comprehensive care.
- Prescribe medications and rehabilitation plans for neurological recovery.
- Maintain accurate surgical records and patient documentation.
- Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings.
- Guide and supervise junior doctors and medical staff.
