Lab Technician

The Lab Technician will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The requires technical expertise, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process patient samples such as blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through proper procedures.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of test results.
• Adhere to turnaround time (TAT) for reporting.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of samples and reagents.
• Monitor quality control measures and calibrate equipment regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines strictly.
• Dispose of biomedical waste as per protocols.
• Coordinate with doctors and other departments for test requirements.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory and stock of consumables.
• entify and report abnormal results to concerned medical staff.
• Participate in audits, accreditation, and quality improvement activities.
• Stay updated with laboratory techniques and advancements.
• Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle emergency testing requirements efficiently.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the laboratory in-charge or management.
