Staff Nurse - ER/ICU is responsible for providing emergency and critical care nursing support to patients in ER and ICU departments. The requires GNM or B.Sc Nursing qualification with 2 to 5 years of experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of emergency patient care, ICU monitoring, critical care documentation, medication administration, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to emergency and ICU patients.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen support, ventilator status, ECG, and patient condition.
- Assist doctors during emergency assessment, ICU rounds, procedures, and interventions.
- Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, emergency drugs, and prescribed treatments safely.
- Support trauma care, code blue response, CPR, and resuscitation activities when required.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication charts, ICU records, and emergency documentation.
- Observe patient condition changes and report critical findings immediately to doctors.
- Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, transfers, and ICU admission or discharge.
- Handle ICU monitors, infusion pumps, oxygen devices, and emergency supplies responsibly.
- Follow infection control, hygiene, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols.
- Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, OT, and support teams.
- Maintain emergency trolley, ICU supplies, and nursing station readiness.
- Educate patients and attendants about care instructions and hospital protocols when appropriate.
- Ensure proper shift handover with complete patient updates.
- Deliver alert, compassionate, and patient-centered emergency and ICU nursing care.
