Job Description
The Billing Head will be responsible for leading hospital billing operations, revenue cycle coordination, patient billing accuracy, insurance billing support, and financial process control. This requires strong knowledge of hospital billing, tariff management, TPA processes, discharge billing, team supervision, and revenue leakage prevention. The candidate will ensure transparent billing practices, timely billing closure, accurate documentation, and smooth coordination with finance, clinical, insurance, and administrative teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise overall hospital billing operations across OPD, IPD, emergency, diagnostics, and procedures.
- Ensure accurate bill generation, service posting, tariff application, package billing, discounts, and refunds.
- Monitor discharge billing timelines and coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, doctors, diagnostics, and finance teams.
- Review cash, credit, corporate, insurance, and TPA billing processes for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage billing team performance, duty allocation, training, and daily workflow supervision.
- Resolve complex patient billing queries, disputes, escalations, and payment-related concerns professionally.
- Track outstanding payments, pending bills, credit cases, claim gaps, and revenue leakage risks.
- Coordinate with insurance and TPA teams for claim documentation, approvals, and reconciliation support.
- Review billing reports, daily collections, pending discharge bills, refunds, and revenue summaries.
- Implement billing policies, SOPs, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular checks to identify missing services, wrong postings, or billing mismatches.
- Coordinate with accounts and finance teams for collection reconciliation and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate billing records, approval documents, payment details, and MIS reports.
- Support management with billing analysis, revenue reports, and operational insights.
- Ensure transparent, compliant, and patient-friendly billing operations across the hospital.
