Job Description
The Paediatrician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric conditions, providing preventive healthcare, and supporting the physical and developmental needs of children. The includes routine check-ups, immunizations, emergency care, and parental guidance to ensure optimal child health outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries in infants, children, and adolescents.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and developmental assessments.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory investigations.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer vaccinations as per national immunization schedules.
- Monitor growth, development, and nutritional status of pediatric patients.
- Provide preventive healthcare and early detection of childhood diseases.
- Manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions effectively.
- Offer emergency medical care to pediatric patients when required.
- Educate parents and guardians on child health, nutrition, hygiene, and development.
- Counsel families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records and documentation.
- Coordinate with specialists for advanced pediatric care when necessary.
- Conduct regular follow-ups and monitor patient recovery and progress.
- Promote awareness on child health and preventive practices.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and NABH guidelines.
- Maintain ethical medical practices and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education.
- Support quality improvement initiatives in pediatric care services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital management.
