Associate Consultant - Gastroenterology

The Associate Consultant - Gastroenterology will provide GI consultation, digestive disorder treatment, gastroenterology care coordination, surgical care support, patient counselling, and clinical documentation at Max Healthcare, Lucknow. This requires DM or DNB Gastroenterology with 0–2 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Consult patients with abdominal pain, acidity, liver disease, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, GI bleeding, and digestive disorders.
• Review lab reports, ultrasound, CT, MRI, endoscopy findings, colonoscopy findings, and liver function reports.
• Plan treatment for gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, biliary, and digestive health conditions.
• Support endoscopy, colonoscopy, and GI procedure workflow as per clinical expertise and hospital protocol.
• Coordinate with endoscopy unit, OT, ICU, nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing teams.
• Manage emergency GI conditions and urgent gastroenterology referrals.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedure preparation, diet, and follow-up.
• Maintain consultation notes, procedure records, prescriptions, consent forms, and discharge summaries.
• Support surgical and multidisciplinary care for complex GI cases.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and ethical medical practice.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication.
• Deliver safe, accurate, and patient-focused gastroenterology care.
