Job Description

Consultant - Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and immunological disorders. The involves evaluating patient conditions, developing treatment plans, monitoring disease progression, coordinating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and providing specialized clinical care for both acute and chronic conditions.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage patients with rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and immunological disorders.
  • Evaluate patient medical history, clinical symptoms, laboratory investigations, and imaging reports.
  • Develop individualized treatment and disease management plans for patients.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications, biologic therapies, immunosuppressive treatments, and supportive care.
  • Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient rounds, and follow-up evaluations.
  • Monitor disease progression, treatment response, and potential medication side effects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, orthopedicians, nephrologists, dermatologists, and other specialists.
  • Perform and interpret relevant diagnostic procedures and investigations related to rheumatology and immunology.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding disease conditions, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and long-term care.
  • Manage emergency and complex autoimmune or inflammatory conditions when required.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation, medical records, treatment plans, and clinical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards.
  • Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary treatment planning sessions.
  • Stay updated with advancements in rheumatology, immunotherapy, and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Participate in research activities, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior doctors, residents, and healthcare staff when required.
  • Support patient education programs, awareness initiatives, and preventive healthcare activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
  • Participate in CME programs, conferences, workshops, and academic activities.
  • Maintain professionalism, ethical medical practices, and compassionate patient care at all times.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative responsibilities assigned by hospital management or senior leadership.
