Staff Nurses

The Staff Nurse will play a vital in patient care by monitoring health conditions, administering treatments, and assisting doctors in delivering medical services. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in assigned units.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and record observations accurately.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as prescribed.
• Ensure adherence to medication safety protocols and the “10 Rights” of drug administration.
• Assist doctors during rounds, examinations, and medical procedures.
• Ensure timely execution of medical orders and investigations.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the concerned doctor promptly.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Assist in wound care, dressings, and infection management.
• Maintain strict infection control practices and hygiene standards.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and home care.
• Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and support staff for effective care delivery.
• Handle emergencies and assist in resuscitation and critical care when required.
• Ensure proper handover and takeover during shift changes.
• Maintain inventory of nursing supplies and ensure availability.
• Follow hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH standards.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal.
• Support patient mobility and rehabilitation activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.
• Work efficiently in rotational shifts including nights and weekends.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and attendants.
