Radiotherapy Technologist

The Radiotherapy Technologist will support radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery, patient positioning, machine handling, treatment documentation, safety checks, and oncology team coordination at HCG Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad. This requires B.Sc. Radiotherapy Technology qualification with 2–3 years of radiotherapy experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in radiotherapy treatment delivery as per oncologist and physicist instructions.
• Prepare patients for radiation therapy sessions and explain basic procedure steps.
• Position patients accurately using immobilization devices and treatment setup protocols.
• Operate radiotherapy equipment as per department SOP and authorized guidance.
• Verify patient identity, treatment plan, dose schedule, and treatment site before procedure.
• Coordinate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, nurses, and treatment planning teams.
• Maintain treatment records, machine logs, patient schedules, and documentation.
• Follow radiation safety, infection control, patient privacy, and treatment room discipline.
• Report machine alarms, treatment interruptions, patient discomfort, or technical concerns promptly.
• Support quality checks, patient movement, and treatment workflow coordination.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of treatment area and accessories.
• Ensure safe, accurate, and patient-centered radiotherapy support.
