The Biomedical Engineer will manage biomedical equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration coordination, service documentation, vendor follow-up, and hospital equipment support at SAL Hospital, Ahmedabad. This requires Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering with 1–2 years of experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot biomedical, medical, and hospital equipment across clinical and diagnostic departments.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine checks of critical medical equipment.
- Coordinate equipment calibration, servicing, breakdown repair, and technical support.
- Maintain equipment records, service logs, AMC / CMC details, calibration certificates, and maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate with ICU, OT, emergency, radiology, laboratory, nursing, dialysis, and clinical departments for equipment readiness.
- Follow up with vendors and service engineers for equipment repair, installation, spare parts, and technical issues.
- Ensure patient care equipment is safe, functional, calibrated, and available for clinical use.
- Report equipment breakdowns, repeated faults, downtime, or safety issues to seniors promptly.
- Support new equipment installation, user training, and technical handover when required.
- Maintain biomedical inventory, asset tagging, equipment history, and service tracking records.
- Follow hospital safety, electrical safety, biomedical engineering, infection control, and documentation standards.
- Ensure reliable, safe, and uninterrupted biomedical equipment support.
