The Associate Consultant will be responsible for supporting consultant-led patient care, clinical assessment, treatment planning, patient monitoring, procedures, and documentation in the assigned specialty. This requires MBBS or MD qualification, strong clinical knowledge, professional communication, and coordination with senior consultants, nurses, diagnostics, pharmacy, and hospital departments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess OPD, IPD, emergency, and referred patients under specialty care.
- Take clinical history, perform examination, and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Assist senior consultants during rounds, procedures, admissions, and discharge planning.
- Review investigation reports, clinical progress, and treatment response.
- Write prescriptions, progress notes, procedure notes, and clinical documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, ICU, and ward teams.
- Respond to urgent patient needs and escalate critical findings promptly.
- Counsel patients and relatives under consultant guidance.
- Maintain accurate case sheets, discharge summaries, and follow-up records.
- Support clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement activities.
- Follow infection control, consent, patient safety, and ethical care standards.
- Deliver evidence-based and patient-centered clinical support.
