Hostel Warden

The Hostel Warden will be responsible for managing hostel operations, resident discipline, safety, cleanliness, attendance, and daily welfare activities. This requires strong supervision skills, communication ability, basic administration knowledge, and a responsible approach to resident care. The candidate will ensure smooth hostel functioning, timely issue resolution, proper record maintenance, and a safe, clean, and disciplined living environment for hostel residents.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily hostel operations and ensure a safe and disciplined environment.
• Maintain resident attendance, room allocation records, visitor registers, and hostel documentation.
• Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, housekeeping, and maintenance needs within the hostel premises.
• Ensure hostel rules, timings, safety guidelines, and discipline standards are followed.
• Address resident concerns, complaints, and welfare-related issues professionally.
• Coordinate with administration, housekeeping, security, maintenance, and food service teams.
• Monitor entry and exit of residents, visitors, and staff as per hostel policy.
• Report emergencies, safety concerns, misconduct, or maintenance issues to management promptly.
• Ensure availability of basic facilities such as water, electricity, sanitation, and common area cleanliness.
• Conduct regular rounds to check rooms, corridors, washrooms, and common areas.
• Support new resident onboarding, room allotment, and basic orientation.
• Maintain confidentiality and fairness while handling resident issues.
• Assist in enforcing hostel policies related to visitors, timings, behavior, and property care.
• Prepare hostel reports, occupancy updates, and issue trackers for management.
• Promote a respectful, secure, and comfortable hostel environment.
