Project Manager / Head

KEM Hospital is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager / Head to lead and oversee civil and infrastructure development projects within the hospital environment. The involves end-to-end project execution including planning, supervision, quality control, vendor management, and compliance with hospital-specific safety and regulatory standards. Theeal candidate will ensure timely delivery of renovation, expansion, and maintenance projects with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage civil engineering projects including renovation, expansion, remodeling, and infrastructure upgrades within hospital premises.
• Review drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and project requirements before execution.
• Develop detailed project schedules, execution plans, manpower allocation, and milestone tracking systems.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, biomedical engineers, HVAC, and electrical teams for integrated project execution.
• Ensure smooth project execution with minimal disruption to hospital clinical operations and patient care services.
• Supervise daily civil works including masonry, plastering, flooring, tiling, waterproofing, and structural repairs.
• Oversee installation of false ceilings, partitions, interior finishing, and minor structural modifications.
• Ensure all work is executed strictly as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship quality, and material usage on a continuous basis.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and labor teams effectively.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure adherence to timelines, quality, and safety standards.
• Verify contractor bills, measurements, and work completion reports prior to approvals.
• Ensure strict compliance with hospital infection control protocols during construction activities.
• Implement dust control, noise control, waste management, and proper site barricading measures.
• Ensure adherence to hospital safety guidelines, fire safety norms, and regulatory requirements.
• Apply knowledge of NABH/JCI standards in all infrastructure and construction activities.
• Conduct regular quality inspections at every stage of construction work.
• Ensure usage of approved construction materials as per specifications.
• Inspect structural integrity, surface finishing, waterproofing, flooring alignment, and leveling works.
• Maintain detailed quality control documentation, checklists, and inspection reports.
• Track project budgets, control costs, and prevent wastage of materials.
• Assist in preparation and validation of BOQs, estimates, and cost analysis reports.
• Maintain accurate records of materials received, consumed, and balance stock.
• Ensure procurement alignment with project requirements and budget limits.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management review.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, approvals, and site records.
• Liaise with government authorities, consultants, PMC, and statutory bodies as required.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and hospital regulations.
• Enforce strict safety practices including mandatory PPE usage at site.
• Monitor safe handling of tools, scaffolding, machinery, and construction materials.
• Identify, report, and mitigate unsafe practices to prevent site hazards.
• Conduct regular site meetings to review progress, risks, and corrective actions.
• Utilize AutoCAD and building information systems for planning and coordination support.
• Ensure timely completion of projects within defined scope, budget, and quality standards.
