The Ophthalmologist will play a key in evaluating and treating patients with eye disorders, conducting diagnostic examinations, prescribing treatments, and performing ophthalmic surgeries when required. The candidate must ensure patient safety, accurate diagnosis, effective treatment planning, and adherence to medical ethics and hospital protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with eye diseases, injuries, and vision disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using specialized ophthalmic equipment.
• Diagnose conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, refractive errors, and infections.
• Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans for patients.
• Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures including cataract and minor eye surgeries when required.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as OCT, fundus imaging, visual field analysis, and tonometry.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Provide emergency eye care services for trauma and acute ophthalmic conditions.
• Educate patients regarding eye health, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, and clinical documentation.
• Coordinate with optometrists, technicians, nurses, and other specialists for patient care.
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and patient safety standards.
• Handle medico-legal cases and maintain proper documentation where required.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation activities.
• Stay updated with advancements in ophthalmology, surgical techniques, and technologies.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, technicians, and support staff when required.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment.

• Work efficiently in OPD, OT, and emergency settings when required.

• Participate in CMEs, conferences, and training programs for continuous learning.
• Ensure timely reporting and follow-up of diagnostic investigations.
