Resident Doctor is responsible for managing OPD, IPD, emergency, and ward-based patient care under consultant supervision. The requires MBBS qualification with 1 to 4 years of clinical experience. Candidates should have strong knowledge of patient assessment, clinical documentation, counselling, emergency care, critical care, internal medicine, surgical support, and hospital patient management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Attend OPD, IPD, emergency, and ward patients as per duty schedule.
- Assess patient condition, symptoms, history, and clinical requirements.
- Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, and treatment planning.
- Monitor patient vitals, treatment response, and clinical progress.
- Maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and clinical documentation.
- Provide initial management for emergency and critical care cases.
- Review investigation reports and update consultants when required.
- Support admission, transfer, discharge, and referral processes.
- Counsel patients and attendants about treatment instructions and care plans.
- Coordinate with nurses, technicians, and support departments for patient care.
- Ensure timely medication orders and clinical instructions are followed.
- Participate in duty handovers and continuity of care.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Report critical patient changes to senior doctors immediately.
- Maintain ethical, professional, and patient-focused medical practice.
