The Oncology OT Nurse will be responsible for supporting oncology operation theatre procedures, sterile preparation, surgical assistance, patient monitoring, OT documentation, and post-procedure coordination at Nanavati Max Hospital, Mumbai. This requires GNM, B.Sc Nursing, or Post B.Sc Nursing qualification with 0–10 years of experience in operation theatre nursing, oncology surgical support, sterile practices, and patient safety.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare oncology OT room, surgical instruments, sterile sets, equipment, and consumables before procedures.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT team during oncology surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterile field, aseptic technique, and infection control standards throughout surgery.
- Verify patient identity, consent, surgical site, procedure details, and pre-operative checklist.
- Support patient shifting, positioning, draping, and intraoperative nursing care.
- Monitor patient condition and assist with emergency response during surgical procedures.
- Maintain OT nursing notes, material usage records, instrument count, and handover documentation.
- Coordinate with CSSD, biomedical, housekeeping, pharmacy, ward, ICU, and recovery teams.
- Ensure availability of surgical consumables, oncology procedure materials, and emergency drugs.
- Follow biomedical waste disposal, PPE, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols.
- Support post-operative shifting and recovery room coordination.
- Report equipment issues, instrument shortage, or clinical concerns to seniors promptly.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality during OT workflow.
- Follow hospital OT SOPs, surgical safety checklist, and documentation standards.
- Ensure smooth, sterile, and safe oncology OT nursing support.
